Yuzu

Privacy notice

Yuzu is a personal project. This page explains in plain English what it stores and why.

What we store

Your voice

We never receive or store your voice. Speaking practice uses your browser's speech recognition, and only the words it heard are used to score your answer. Some browsers send audio to their maker (such as Google or Apple) to do this.

AI feedback

When you use the AI tutor or writing coach, what you type is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to create a reply. Please don't type private details such as passport or bank numbers.

Reports and screenshots

When you press the flag, we take a picture of the page you're on and send it with your message, your browser type and your screen size. You see the picture before you send it, and password boxes are left out. The picture may show your own work, so we use it only to fix the problem.

Security records and email

To protect accounts we record sign-ins, failed sign-ins and your internet address, and we delete these records after 90 days. Password reset emails are sent through our email provider, Resend.

Who can see your data

The person running Yuzu can see your account details, progress, scores, activity, writing and reports. This is used to support you, improve the lessons and keep the community safe, and it can include blocking an account that breaks the rules.

The leaderboard

Your name and weekly XP are shown to other students. You can turn this off in Settings.

Your choices

In Settings you can download everything we hold about you, or permanently delete your account. We don't sell your data or show ads.

Contact us

Email hello@chromoworks.com with any question about your data.
